There always different views of users related to verification of login credentials, some like more than one step to verification tools but some don't.
If you looking for a way to remove the OPT (mobile) verification step from your email account, you need to follow the below steps:
Login using the Username, password and OPT to your google account.
Click on profile icon at right top corner.
Click on "My Account".
Click on Sign-in & Security.
Scroll down a bit and find "2 Step Verification" click on it.
Click on get started which would appear in new screen.
Sign in again using your gmail/google credentials.
On next page click on button "Turn Off" and verify your action and you are done.
